Manifesto of Support and Solidarity with Israel

Approved at the 17th International Congress on the Prophetic Word in Águas de Lindóia, SP, Brazil — October 18 to 21, 2015 — by more than 1100 participants

All throughout the Old Testament God says that the land we know as Israel is for the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and their descendants, also known as the Jews. Every Old Testament prophet, except Jonah, speaks of a permanent return to the Land of Israel by the Jews.

The main passages can be read in this page.

Nowhere in the New Testament are these Old Testament promises ever changed or negated. In fact, they are reinforced by some New Testament passages. Paul says of the promises to Israel: “for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Rom. 11:29).

The Lord called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldeans and made an unconditional covenant, or contract, with him. This contract, known as the Abrahamic covenant, contained three major provisions: 1) a land to Abram and his descendants—Israel, 2) a seed or physical descendants of Abraham, and 3) a worldwide blessing (Gen. 12:1-3).

This covenant is repeated to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants twenty times in the book of Genesis alone. There is a clear emphasis implied! God’s promise to the patriarchs is said to be an everlasting covenant (Gen. 17:7, 13, 19). The book of Deuteronomy says at least twenty-five times that the land is a gift to the people of Israel from the Lord. Read a few passages here.

There are many other passages in the book of Gênesis.

Sixty-nine times the writer of Deuteronomy repeated the pledge that Israel would one day ‘possess’ and ‘inherit’ the land promised to her. The New Testament indicates a future for Israel in many places but especially in Matthew 24, Romans 9-11, and the Book of Revelation.

Therefore there is NO biblical basis for teaching that the church has replaced or superseded Israel. Such a view has aided anti-Semitism throughout Church history.

We call on all Bible-believing Christians to repent of any form of replacement theology and to embrace the certain biblical hope taught in both the Old and New Testaments of God’s Holy Word.

Therefore we are resolved to support Israel in any way that our Lord Jesus Christ may lead individuals or groups. Through Bible study, prayer, evangelism, and proclamation we express our intent to stand with God’s Chosen People—Israel.
